Multilingual Learner Expertise

Empowering schools and districts to build equitable, high-impact programs that honor the brilliance multilingual learners bring to every classroom.

I partner with schools and districts to strengthen programming, instructional practice, and leadership systems so multilingual learners are not simply served — but truly championed.

I am also proud to present at NJTESOL for administrators on planning, programming, and instructional look-for's that help leaders better support multilingual learners across schools and districts.

All About Me

Educational Leader • Multilingual Learner Advocate • Coach • Lifelong Learner

With more than two decades of experience in education, I have dedicated my career to supporting students, educators, and school communities through culturally responsive leadership, relationship-building, and equitable instructional practices. My professional journey has allowed me to teach and lead within diverse school systems in Miami, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Camden, and beyond, giving me firsthand experience working with multilingual learners and students from a wide range of linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Throughout my career as a teacher, instructional leader, multilingual learner supervisor, and educational administrator, I have focused on creating inclusive learning environments where all students feel seen, supported, and empowered to succeed. My expertise includes multilingual learner programming, instructional coaching, scaffolding and differentiation, MTSS support systems, educator development, family engagement, and building strong school-community partnerships that foster student achievement and belonging.

I am currently pursuing my Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) with a research focus centered on English Language Learners and equitable educational practices, further deepening my commitment to advocacy, leadership, and transformative support for multilingual learners and their families.

Beyond education, I am deeply passionate about music, dance, reading, travel, culture, and meaningful human connection. I love spending time at the beach, participating in Zumba classes, exploring new places and cultures, and creating lasting memories with my family. I believe that learning happens through relationships and shared experiences, and I pride myself on my ability to connect authentically with people from all walks of life. Whether collaborating with educators, mentoring families, supporting students, or engaging with community members, I strive to lead with empathy, authenticity, cultural awareness, and heart.

My Approach

Multilingual learners are one of the most dynamic, resilient, and gifted student populations in our schools — and they deserve more than compliance-driven programming. My work is grounded in the belief that language is an asset, culture is a strength, and every student deserves to be fully seen, valued, and challenged.

Program Design & Compliance

Navigating federal and state requirements for multilingual learner programs can be complex — but compliance should never be the end goal.

  • Auditing ML program structures for compliance and equity
  • Designing district models such as Push-in, Pull-out, and Dual Language
  • Supporting Title III planning, implementation, and reporting

Culturally Responsive Instruction

Multilingual learners bring powerful linguistic and cultural assets into the classroom. I support educators in shifting toward asset-based, rigorous instruction.

  • Translanguaging and scaffolded instructional strategies
  • Academic language development across content areas
  • Strengthening family and community engagement

Teacher & Leader Coaching

Sustainable change happens when both teachers and leaders feel confident and equipped to serve multilingual learners well.

  • Instructional coaching cycles focused on ML best practices
  • Professional development for ESL and content-area teachers
  • Leadership coaching for administrators and ML coordinators
